We Tested 30 CRM Platforms. Here Are the 10 That Don't Embarrass You.
Three months. 30 platforms. One conclusion: most CRMs are fine until you actually try to use them under pressure.

How We Evaluated These Tools
Over three months, we tested 30 CRM platforms across four dimensions: setup time for a 5-person team, data import quality, mobile experience, and integration ecosystem. We excluded anything that required more than one week to configure or a dedicated admin to maintain.
The Top 10
1. HubSpot CRM (Free Tier) — Still the benchmark for early-stage teams. The free tier is genuinely useful, not just a lead magnet. The marketing automation becomes powerful (and expensive) as you scale, but for pure sales tracking, the free version lasts most teams to Series A.
2. Pipedrive — Visual pipeline management done right. The deal probability features and rotting deal alerts are underrated. Best for teams with a defined, repeatable sales process.
3. Close.io — Built for high-velocity outbound. If your team is doing 50+ calls a week, the built-in calling and email sequences justify the price premium immediately.
4. Notion + CRM Template — Surprisingly viable for pre-revenue teams. Low friction, flexible, and free. The tradeoff is that you'll outgrow it around £500k ARR.
5. Folk — The newest entrant on this list and the one most teams don't know about yet. Relationship-focused design, excellent email integration, and a pricing model that doesn't punish you for having a large contact database.
6. Attio — Data-model flexibility that enterprise CRMs charge you consultants to achieve. Best for teams with complex, non-standard sales motions.
7. Salesflare — Automated data entry is the headline feature, and it delivers. Integrations pull in email, LinkedIn, and calendar data so reps rarely have to log anything manually.
8. Monday.com CRM — A natural choice if your team already uses Monday for project management. The unified workspace reduces context switching; the tradeoff is depth of CRM-specific features.
9. Zoho CRM — The best value at scale. Feature-complete, affordable, and deeply integrated with the broader Zoho suite. The UI is dated but the functionality is hard to beat at the price point.
10. Streak (Gmail CRM) — If your entire workflow lives in Gmail, Streak is the path of least resistance. Zero behaviour change required from your team.
Our Recommendation
For most startups: HubSpot free → Pipedrive or Close.io at Series A → Salesforce or HubSpot Enterprise at Series B. Don't over-engineer your stack before you have repeatable revenue.`,
